Reflecting on 2019

Bridge, 2019, FM Comedy Night...

As 2019 draws to an end, here at Bridge Recruitment, we’ve been reflecting on what we’ve achieved and the opportunities we’ve had over the last 12 months.

First and foremost, we’d like to say a huge thank-you to those we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside throughout the year, and we look forward to what 2020 has in store for us!

This year has been quite special for Bridge – April saw us host our first ever FM Comedy Night at the iconic Comedy Store in London. The event was the first of its kind and raised money for children’s charity, Haven House. The evening proved to be such a success; we’re returning next year and hope to recreate it for another fantastic charity – Bounce Back.

A couple of months later we exhibited at the Facilities Show for the third year running, giving us the perfect opportunity to network and engage with those in the industry and expand our brand across FM at a larger scale – the show is one of the largest Facilities Management events in the world and attracts over 11,000 visitors every year! Spread across three days, the Facilities Show gave us a great platform to speak to people on a personal level and we thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it.

Our Director, Michelle was officially appointed a member of the IWFM Rising FMs committee in July – a wonderful achievement! Being a part of this group and IWFM Women in FM now gives Michelle the opportunity to share ideas, knowledge and support the success of up and coming talent in the industry.

Fast forward to September and Bridge showed their competitive side, participating in DragonFest 2019 – an annual community festival with food, activities, entertainment, music and of course, the infamous Dragon Boat Race! The team had a fantastic day all while raising money for charity – something we feel is extremely important at Bridge.

Speaking of charities, did we mention we’re returning to the Comedy Store in London next April? It’ll be our second FM Comedy Night and of course, we’ll be raising money for charity. Next year’s charity of choice is Bounce Back, an organisation dedicated to supporting ex-offenders and helping them get back into work through training focused on the FM industry. Ahead of the event, Director Michelle Brightly and Compliance Manager Leanne Heerey visited HMP Brixton to get a feel for what Bounce Back do for those in and leaving prison. Both said the experience was an eye-opener, and really demonstrated how dedicated the organisation is in wanting to help ex-offenders achieve what they thought they might not have been able to. We’re proud that we’ll have the opportunity to support Bounce Back next April, and the Comedy Night is just one of the things we’re looking forward to in 2020!

The team will be back on January 2, so feel free to contact us then if you need any assistance for new roles across the FM industry. In the meantime, Bridge Recruitment would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year!
