Role Description:
Our client, a well-established organisation based in Takeley, is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional to contribute to a dynamic and growing business.
The Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant will play an integral role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing a high volume of invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing a high volume of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
Managing staff expense claims, ensuring appropriate authorisations and coding
Assisting with the preparation and issue of sales invoices and credit notes
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies
Supporting the management of accounts payable and receivable ledgers
Assisting in the collection of outstanding debts
Identifying opportunities to enhance and streamline financial processes
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be numerate, organised, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. You will have prior experience in a finance or accounts environment and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong numerical and analytical abilities
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks advantageous
Strong organisational and time management skills
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
Discretion and integrity in handling confidential financial information
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts role
Sound understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping
GCSEs/A Levels (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English
