Reflecting on 2021 while Welcoming 2022!

Thank-you, Working from Home, Change...

As we say goodbye to 2021 and get ready to welcome 2022 with open arms, here at Bridge we’ve been looking back on the last year and all that we have achieved, despite another year of restrictions and working from home.

First of all, we’re incredibly grateful once again to those who we have had the pleasure of working alongside this year – we know it hasn’t been easy, but here we are despite it all and looking forward to the year ahead!

This time last year, we had been slowly getting used to the idea of working from home, hosting and attending events online and getting more and more acquainted with Zoom calls. A year on and the easing of restrictions has meant that more events have taken place in person, which is fantastic news, especially in the FM industry. Networking with like-minded professionals is a huge part of FM and something we missed greatly in 2020, so it has been great to get back out there.

Additionally, although we’d prefer to meet clients and candidates in person, we have been forced into situations at times where we are physically unable to. At the start of the year, any meeting of this kind was off limits, and Zoom and Teams meetings took over once. As frustrating as this was, it also showed how useful these tools can be in times like this, connecting with whoever we wanted to through a laptop screen or over the phone. Periods of change can be unnerving, but for the second year running, we’ve been able to adapt to and overcome these changes in the way we work.

With regards to Bridge as a team, we are extremely grateful for the ability to work from home, meaning our work can continue with very little interruption. It took a while to get used to, as we’re sure many of you will understand, but we have stuck by it, and it works extremely well. Of course, we have been able to conduct in-person team meetings of late, which really helps in terms of connectivity and let’s be honest – it’s much better seeing your colleagues in person rather than on a screen. The same goes for meeting clients and candidates too, and now we are able to meet you in person, it has served as a huge positive change.

To all of our clients and candidates who have again stuck with us in uncertain times – thank-you. Thank-you for persevering and still letting us be a part of your journey, whether you were an employer looking to appoint new members to your team or whether you were a candidate looking for that all important career move. We appreciate each and every one of you, not just for sticking with us but for the support and contact from you all. As always, we will do our best to support you in the new year and beyond.

The team will be back on January 4th so please do not hesitate to contact us from then if you’re either looking to recruit or are looking for a new role. We will be only too happy to assist!

In the meantime, Bridge Recruitment would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. We can’t wait to see you all in 2022!
