Bridge Cycle To Work

Cycle to Work Day 2021

Physical Health, Exercise, Health...

Today is Cycle to Work day here in the UK and is something that happens every year, encouraging commuters to hop on a bike to work rather than using their car or public transport.

In a bid to get more people to take the healthier route to work, the national event aims to promote active travel and healthy living. We all know there are many benefits of a healthier and more active lifestyle, having a positive impact on both our physical and mental health – something that is being talked about more and more of late.

Whether you haven’t ridden a bike in years or are even just starting out, why not give it a go? You might even make a habit out of it! Cycling is also a great form of exercise and you can really clock up some miles without even realising sometimes. What with working from home being the case for a lot of people, we haven’t needed to leave the house. But now, with many places of work starting to open up again, more and more employees are making the daily commute to work, whether it be by bus, train or car. Why not take your bike instead? With many buildings adapting and maximising the use of their work space, the health and wellbeing of their workers is a top priority and more often we are seeing large scale bike storage facilities on site to encourage those wanting to cycle to work.

Cycle to Work day is set up by the Love to Ride online community, and you can sign up here with Facebook, Strava or the app. This will enable you to get involved online, logging your activity and be in with a chance to win a number of prizes.

With more people returning to the office now, what better time to start than today?
