Our Client requires a highly qualified Health and Safety Manager who has experience in training. You will be advising/supporting the cleaning services within the Transport sector and so some evenings you will be required to be on site (the evening operation runs from 6 pm - 2 pm so unless an emergency the hours will likely to be 6-9pm). The role also includes days. 

Duties:

  • Liaising with the Clients to maximise strong working relations 
  • Ensure all training requirements are up to date and proactively support compliance at a high level
  • Manage the HSE requirements of the Operatives on and off-site (IOSH / NEBOSH qualification is required)
  • Provide toolbox talk and RAMS briefings to the Operational Cleaning staff 
  • Conducting site visits and carry out regular inspections of work carried out 
  • Control HR practices across the business 
  • Ensuring staff and sites are provided with the correct materials, equipment etc
  • Promotion of a positive and engaging H&S culture
  • Annual co-ordination of generic and specific risk assessments ensuring accurate completion of findings and non-conformances
  • Working together across site H&S, HR and management teams to consistently develop, where required, relevant task procedures, competency sheets and competency questionnaires for each site
  • Working with 3rd parties to ensure effective management of insurance related queries and claims
  • Experience and knowledge of H&S Management
  • Record of detailed administration

  • Proven track record in health and safety/risk assessments and method statements etc
  • Strong organisational capabilities 
  • Health and safety qualifications
