Role Description:
Our Client is a highly reputable company within the cleaning and security division offering a high number of services to customers in the UK. Founded more than 25 years ago, the company has more than 7000 colleagues across the country and is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join their vast Team. The site in question is an abattoir so the ideal Site Manager will need to understand the nature of the work and have experience in cleaning management, food processing and food manufacturing. As Site Manager you will also be expected to maintain company Health and Safety guidelines in all areas of your work.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all staff maintain safe working practices and have Company policies and procedures at the forefront of everything they do, with regards to Health and Safety regulations and standards
  • Ensure the level of cleaning meets or exceeds expected standard and specification
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean through the practice of quality checks
  • Develop, train, motivate and encourage new starters and operatives
  • Keep individual training records for each member of staff
  • Induct, train and motivate staff to perform tasks to the best of their ability with company procedures and Health and Safety standards in mind
  • Assess work performance across all sites and retrain where necessary to achieve high performance levels
  • Be responsible for recruiting and interviewing candidates for roles
  • Identify any issues and report them to Contract Manager
  • Liaise with customers and clients where required
  • Liaise with colleagues, discussing room for improvement where necessary
  • Complete monthly quality audits
  • Ensure the accurate completion of staff wages on a weekly basis
  • Be sure to maintain material stock levels and consumables
  • Keep all filed documents in order such as timesheets, PPE checklists, staff holidays, uniform orders and personal files
  • Complete staff appraisals
  • Monthly completion of TBTs
  • Ensure all machinery is PAT tested and make sure regular safety checks are undertaken
  • Monitor third party suppliers and ensure service delivery is completed
  • Report accidents and incidents within 24 hours and action where necessary to ensure these aren’t repeated
  • Complete staff training on RAMs annually

Experience and Skills Required:

  • At least two years’ experience in the supervision and management of cleaning contracts
  • BICS qualifications would be an advantage although full training is provided
  • Health and Safety Training 
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience in cleaning management, food processing and manufacturing
  • Must understand the nature of the role, as the site is based in an abattoir
