Role Description:
Our Client is a family business who have developed an outstanding reputation over the years based on their ability to create a positive business culture and working environment where everyone feels valued and part of the Team. They are a business that is committed to building on its infrastructure in order to maintain a leading reputation in the Contract Cleaning industry and are recruiting a Marketing and Communications Manager to help shape and grow their brand, sales process and contribute to the overall success of the business going forward. 
As Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for bringing their work to life through compelling stories and strong copywriting to engage an audience. The ideal Marketing and Communications Manager will have exceptional storytelling skills, an understanding of social media and must be able to build strong working relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and deliver the marketing and communications strategy as part of the wider commercial strategy and lead the commercial team to achieve this, with a focus on prospective client engagement
  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of business development strategies
  • Work with the Commercial Director to draft procedures and departmental strategies against the company objectives and devise plans for their delivery
  • Lead and support the Commercial Team to develop and progress within the business
  • Build and maintain the marketing and communications strategy with targeted messaging
  • Manage and deliver ongoing marketing campaigns to promote services and maximise business growth through the use of social media channels
  • Be sure to know your target audiences, and develop compelling and effective messages associating to each audience
  • Manage the CRM database and email service provider to ensure accurate and targeted communications to clients driving greater engagement 
  • Analyse and report effectively on all communications activity and relate to KPl's and business objectives to develop and improve presence and increase sales performance
  • Be responsible for overseeing the development and creation of content. This must include web, social media, videos, case studies and presentation materials
  • Make sure marketing materials maintain a strong company identity, create brand awareness and consistency of copy, design, and imagery - this is imperative to encourage people to acknowledge your brand, and the more they see it, the more they'll recognise it
  • Copywriting, proofing and editing for communications, both internal and external
  • Liaise with the Commercial Director to develop ideas and suggestions for innovations
  • Oversee the design, production and distribution of the company newsletter and annual sustainability report
  • Continuously check the maintenance and ongoing development of the company website
  • Lead and coach the Commercial Team to deliver the commercial strategy in line with company objectives, while developing their skills and performance. Liaise with the Commercial Director to discuss department performance and put in plans where necessary
  • Manage the distribution of work and task allocation within the team where necessary
  • Generate timely reporting of performance against department KPl's and objectives ensuring that targets are being met
  • Oversee the Marketing budget
  • Ensure sustainability messaging is embedded in all internal and external communications, including the marketing and communications strategy
  • Promote regular cleaning colleague initiatives such as regular rewards, training platforms, social media, social value initiatives etc.
  • Oversee and coordinate the tender and proposal process to ensure responses and documents are correctly submitted and to the deadline
  • Create tender and proposal documents tailored to specific audiences where necessary
  • Oversee and assist with the content and format for presentations
  • Liaise with the Commercial Director to identify and develop unique selling points (USP's) to aid sales performance
  • Ensure mobilisation procedures are being followed by the Commercial Team for new contract startups
  • Communicate with all departments to ensure all terms of each contract are understood and delivered

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business or marketing or Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) certification is preferred
  • Must have experience of compiling tender information and managing tender processes
  • More than three years experience of working in a commercial role, of managing a team and of working closely with all levels of employee, client, and suppliers
  • Must have a strong marketing background with demonstrable knowledge of marketing techniques, including brand development and implementing brand strategies
  • Experience of dealing with complex business relationships and managing multiple resources to deliver strong, winning cases to prospective clients
  • Excellent understanding of financial information
  • Excellent copywriting skills are a must
  • A high standard of verbal and written English (ESOL Level 2 or GCSE A to C grade) is preferred
  • You must be a team player with a strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a hands-on approach
  • Consistency and attention to detail in all areas of your work is key
  • High degree of customer service, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Self-motivated, organised, methodical, proactive with excellent time management and delegation skills
  • Having the ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure is extremely important - tight deadlines can be quite common
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Web design experience and site management is preferred
  • A high level of experience and knowledge in graphic design (InDesign/ Photoshop/ lllustrator) would be beneficial
  • Must have a strong understanding of sustainability and delivery of sustainability-focused communications
