Job Overview:

The EH&S Manager will initially have overall responsibility for reviewing, initiating and driving the delivery of all aspects of Environmental and Health and Safety for all employees of the business. Longer term, they will build the responsibility for all aspects of, Health and Safety and environment. They must keep abreast of all aspects of Environmental and Health and Safety legislation and apply this knowledge to pro-actively manage the day to day management of Health and Safety within the Company.

Key Responsibilities

• To drive and deliver implementation of the site Health and Safety policy, ensuring all locations are Health and Safety compliant
• To carry out site inspections for Health and Safety and QMS compliance
• To assist and have a working knowledge of ISO accreditations, ISO 9002, 14001 and OHSAS 18001
• Develop credible relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders
• To deliver safety training when and where required
• To support and oversee operational management when complex risk assessments are required
• To monitor all RAMS are carried in accordance with the annual schedule
• To monitor all Health and Safety audits are conducted in accordance with the designated time frames
• Manage handling of claims and to meet with loss adjusters were needed
• Deliver safety related training programmes to operational management
• To play an active part within monthly operational management meetings
• Collate, analyse and report on Health and Safety data within the organisation
• Carry out accident and incident investigation and reporting when required in line with Company Policy and RIDDOR legislation
• To attend client/ tender meetings were Health and Safety is likely to be discussed
• To assist with PQQ’s where Health and Safety information is required
• To meet with Ukas certification auditors when site visits are taking place

• Degree level or equivalent
• NEBOSH certificate
• Member of IOSH
• Full Driving license
• Willing and able to travel
• Generalist operational EH&S experience
• Previous experience as an EH&S Manager
• Up-to-date knowledge of EH&S law
• Flexible and hands on approach
• Excellent verbal, written and communication/ interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organisational skills, ability to prioritise and delegate
• Excellent IT skills
• Attention to detail
