Do you have a strong track record in Health and Safety Management with exposure to the Facilities management/transport sector? Our Client is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to join their Team and support the South East operation. They specialise in cleaning services to the transport, commercial and public sectors and so experience in this area is ideal. They are an SME and require someone who is willing to go that extra mile, seeks recognition/rewards for their achievements and has a hands-on approach. This role will require some evening/night work due to the nature of their contracts so flexibility is essential. 

Requirements: 

  • Maintaining and developing the existing Health & Safety Management System, ensuring the company is compliant with current (Health & Safety) legislation
  • Continuously identify areas for improvement with regards to Health & Safety policies and procedures and initiate change
  • Manage regular review of Health & Safety documentation (Risk Assessments, Standard Operating Procedures, Training Records, etc.)
  • Maintain Health & Safety knowledge across all locations by facilitating/arranging required training, carrying out regular risk assessments and necessary training
  • Support the induction of health and safety training to new members of staff
  • Liaison with external authorities as and when required

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous, proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager, highly desirable that this experience is in the Facilities Management industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Confident with the ability to quickly build rapport and confidence of the Clients and team members
  • Organised with exceptional time management ability
  • Previous people management experience with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire
  • High standards with a positive working attitude 
  • Flexible in approach as may be required to work unsociable hours on some occasions and will be required to various locations throughout the UK
  • Full driving licence
