Our client is seeking a Cleaning Regional Manager. The client provides services to offices, restaurants, retail outlets, schools and other businesses around London, employing around 500 staff. They provide professional office and commercial cleaning services, property maintenance and a wide range of support services across London with some sites in Manchester, working with some of the world’s most famous brands. As a multi award-winning family business, they are now one of the most established companies in the industry, with a focus on quality and service. A demanding office and field based role which requires hands-on management for someone with patience, energy and stamina. The role can require long hours and requires a disciplined individual who is able to manage their time effectively. There is also an opportunity to grow within the business, for ambitious candidates wanting career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the CEO
  • Manage 3 / 4 Area Cleaning Managers
  • Oversee the contract cleaning operation of some of the company’s flagship clients
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients
  • Ensure all jobs are staffed and provide cover in the event of holiday or sickness
  • Regularly meet clients for feedback on service delivery
  • Assist with starting-up and managing any new contracts
  • Troubleshooting – follow up on and deal with all complaints
  • Manage a team of around 100 staff and 80 clients
  • Proactively visit sites, spot checking for cleaning standards, staff attendance, uniform, etc
  • Check and approve payroll
  • Oversee start-up of new sites – equipment, supplies and cleaners
  • Try to save any contract terminations

Essentials:

  • Highly proactive, flexible, enthusiastic and pragmatic individual who is delivery orientated
  • Excellent planning, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Able to work autonomously, and be comfortable with rapid change, as well as working as part of a wider team
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • IT literate (MAC and PC) – good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer
  • Previous cleaning management experience required (5+ years)
  • Proven track record in successfully operating multi-site contracts
  • Understanding of the challenges facing the industry at present
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Competent levels of planning and organization
  • Numeracy and literacy to a good level
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • A strong work ethic
  • Full UK driving licence (held for minimum 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points)
