Role Description:

Bridge Recruitment are currently networking for a Business Development Manager to join the Team of one of our London based clients. This client is an award winning, technology led business which operates in the property support service industry. They are passionate about service delivery, quality, sustainability issues and stand out in the Industry as a Company that leads the way in innovation. As Business Development Manager, you will be required to generate new opportunities within the construction cleaning sector, leading your network/opportunities through the bid process, ensuring that you create effective solutions for your clients. The ideal Business Development Manager will have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role, and will have excellent knowledge of the bid process, along with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the BD Team to identify new leads and to increase sales revenue within construction cleaning

  • Understand client requirements and develop appropriate bid responses

  • Produce all paperwork to secure the bid, demonstrating an understanding of pricing and proposal models

  • Write and edit SQ, ITT, RFI and RFP proposals, bids and other documents to a high standard, ensuring compliance with all requirements and guidelines

  • Conduct research to gather relevant information and data for proposals

  • Create compelling proposals and bids that win new business for the company

  • Develop and maintain a library of pre-written content for proposals and bids

  • Manage the bid process from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met

  • Ensure all bids and proposals are submitted in a timely and accurate manner

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales and follow-up activities, including the use of Microsoft Outlook to maintain accurate records

  • Supply sales reports as requested by your Line Manager

Person Specification:

  • This is a hands on role and you will need to be prepared to roll up your sleeves

  • Highly self-motivated and able to act on own initiative

  • A strong understanding of the bidding process and the ability to produce high-quality written proposals that stand out from the competition

  • Minimum of three years of experience in business development/bid writing, proposal development or a related field (preferred)

  • Hunter mentality

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to write persuasively and clearly

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of the bidding process and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously

  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proven ability to self-develop a pipeline of leads

  • Demonstrable selling skills and product knowledge

  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent client and prospect relationships

  • Self-starter with ability to plan and organise own workload and work under pressure to deadlines

  • Knowledge of the cleaning industry and/or experience in bid writing for cleaning services is a plus
