As Business Development Manager, you will increase the company's sales revenue and growth plan within the stated geographical sales region whilst maintaining the required margins, maximising opportunities with existing and new contracts to meet and where possible exceed the targets set.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for generating new FM leads, developing client relationships and the subsequent preparation and delivery of both pre-qualification and tender documents
  • Meeting agreed sales targets, exploiting opportunities for new business in defined market sectors and negotiating contracts on behalf of the Company with maximum possible margins
  • Identify and exploit opportunities in existing business through introductions from existing Regional I Divisional Management
  • Identify "Top" targets as agreed with the Sales Director as basis of targeting process
  • Undertake re-tender activity for existing business as required by the Sales Director including preparation of FM tender documentation in conjunction with operational team
  • Negotiate contracts on behalf of the Company with maximum possible margins
  • Liaise and work with the functional department teams in the co-ordination of contract bids including specification development and pricing solutions
  • Provide support in the development of the sales database and maintain data accurately
  • Provide market intelligence where possible and monitor competitor activity, in defined market sectors
  • Ensure full understanding of any changes and development in legislation and working practices that may affect the company's operations and present new opportunities
  • Maintain the highest standards of presentation, personal integrity and customer support
  • Provide statistics and reports as required to the highest accuracy
  • Screen potential business opportunities by analysing market strategies, customer requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities
  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials estimating partners' needs and goals
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, develop and negotiate contracts, integrate contract requirements with business operations
  • Protect organisation's value by keeping information confidential
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations
  • Enhance organisation’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Create tender documents and contract bid plans
  • Identify risks for TUPE, Penalties and Pensions
  • Work to agreed sales targets, KPI’s, objectives and client timelines
  • Deliver all aspects of the tender process from Pipeline Generation to client presentations, final negotiations and contract signing
  • Conduct site survey as required by the project
  • Log all conversations/actions performed on ACT database
  • Keep online diary up to date and accurate
  • Handover successful contracts in the appropriate form to Operations (Mix of Field, office and Car allowance)
  • Need to have experience in Soft service predominantly cleaning in retail, shopping centres or pharmaceutical
