Role Description:

Our client is a hugely successful and rapidly growing Cleaning and Facilities Management provider based in the Southeast, with offices in the Midlands, the Southwest and London. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on driving growth, they are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director to join their leadership team to further develop their commercial property division. They have exciting plans to further grow this area of their business and with this in mind have created the brand-new role of Business Development Director, Commercial services.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's growth strategy

  • You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building, and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth

  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful business development in Facilities management, ideally with a bias to the commercial real estate market and possess, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset

  • Responsible for developing new strategies, identifying, and growing new leads and further expanding the commercial division of the business by building a solid pipeline of new business opportunities

  • There will also be future opportunities for building a Business Development team to further expand the commercial division of the business

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the overall business development strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitors and potential opportunities for growth

  • Generate leads and build a robust pipeline of potential clients through networking, partnerships and other strategic initiatives

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with products/services

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client needs

  • Lead negotiations with potential clients, ensuring favourable terms for both parties and close deals to achieve revenue targets

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the business development team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on the success and progress of business development efforts

  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to maximise return on investment

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, market dynamics and competitor activities to inform decision-making and maintain a competitive edge

Requirements:

  • Five years of proven experience in business development, with a track record of achieving revenue targets

  • Strong understanding of the Facilities Management/Contract Cleaning market and trends that influence this industry

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans

  • Demonstrated negotiation and closing skills

  • Proficient in using CRM software and other relevant business tools

  • Willingness to travel as required

  • A competent and engaging presenter
