Role Description:
Our Client delivers a range of services related to the professional landscaping and grounds maintenance to the UK market, delivering to mostly to the Public Sectors. 
To further support their business development team, they are looking for someone to join their bid department and assist in the creation of quality bids. 
You must be passionate about writing and keen to join a dedicated team. Due to the nature of the company, it is essential for you to have a genuine interest in the environment and if this sounds like you, then our Client can offer an exciting opportunity with great career prospects. 
Based in Chorley, this is a office based role with a friendly team. The services are delivered across the Country and the Company has a turnover of approx £38m and growing. 
 
As a Bid Writer, you will be expected to;
 
  • Assisting in the management and writing of high-quality bid documents
  • Planning bids as part of the team and ensuring that they meet agreed quality, timescales and compliance
  • Preparing compelling written quality submissions, with innovative responses that exceed client expectations
  • Work closely with bid teams and subject matter experts across the business
  • Support Tender Managers at all times and deputise in their absence
  • Coordinate administration tasks within the team during the senior tender managers absence
  • Work to tight deadlines in a constructive and planned manner
  • Maintaining the bid library and updating of information
  • Gathering and developing information relating to specific tenders, relative projects and long term opportunities
  • Obtaining and analysing results of tender submissions.

Experience Required:

  • Candidates should ideally have previous experience of securing c£1m local authority or private sector contracts
  • Previous experience in landscaping ‘green spaces’ is desirable
  • Practical experience in a similar position essential
  • Candidates should ideally have higher education qualifications 
  • Previous experience of securing local authority or private sector contracts 
  • Be a confident user of MS Office and Google applications.

  • A capable and confident communicator
  • Excellent project planning, organisational and time management skills
