Role Description:
Bridge Recruitment are currently networking for a Bid Manager to join the team of one of our clients, a well-established company within the built environment industry. Supporting the Solutions Team, the Bid Manager will plan and manage the bid response process and deliver winning tender responses in line with company brand, position and processes. The ideal Bid Manager will have proven experience in a similar role or environment. Responsibilities:

  • Management and production of tender submissions for company opportunities for PQQs, RFIs and RFPs
  • Manage the proposal development, working closely with the Solutions Manager who 'owns' the opportunity
  • Ensuring all proposals produced are correctly initiated with the production of a bid plan in partnership with the opportunity solutions lead
  • Monitoring and reporting on bid production performance against bid plan milestones
  • Analysing tender documentation to uncover key client drivers and objectives
  • Create guidance and templates to support the win strategy
  • Third party / resource planning - managing inputs and outsourcing to support bid production, including desk top publishing and printing
  • Coach and chase content contributors as required - managing content quality reviews 
  • Write the bid, create the bid and submit the bid
  • Answer plan / storyboard with the team to understand the question / scoring mechanisms and set a clear path for the Bid Team to deliver in line with the strategy
  • Take a proactive role in the writing of standard content, CVs and project profiles - closing gaps where possible by interviewing and questioning relevant parts of the business
  • Proof and copy edit responses to ensure compelling, benefits-driven copy
  • Continuous improvement. Capture all new content within the Bid Content Library
  • Record and share lessons learnt / best practice
  • Develop and maintain bid document directory (including case studies, CVs) in conjunction with the company’s brand asset library

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong communication and motivational skills
  • Clear understanding of strategic proposal management processes, including qualification, pre-proposal planning, strategy development and storyboarding
  • Strong strategic proposal writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong team working skills - The ability to work in a team and alone as activity requires

  • Fast and accurate document preparation skills
  • Strong comprehension and interpretation skills

  • Skilled to manage delivery through colleagues, including technical employees at all levels, bid colleagues, marketing and communications and external suppliers

  • Experience translating business/brand strategy to content/communications
  • APMP Practitioner Level certification - at the very least APMP Foundation
  • A strong understanding of the Facilities Management industry preferred
  • Knowledge of FM/engineering/ building environment
  • Experience in Facilities Management bidding
  • Experience of the international FM market
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office programs essential
  • Adobe Creative Suite (In Design) experience to at least Intermediate level desirable
  • Five years’ experience specifically focused on bidding
