Role Description:
Our Client is looking to appoint an experienced Area Manager to join their fast-growing Team. As Area Manager, you will be responsible for approximately 25 to 30 sites within the retail sector across the Cheltenham area. The Area Manager will have proven experience of working within a similar environment in the cleaning industry.
 

Responsibilities:
• Carry out structured site visits ensuring specifications are met and customer expectations are positively managed
• Coach, develop and mentor site managers to deliver brilliant cleaning standards
• Manage and work within your budget at each site
• Manage the payroll and payment of staff, ensuring that timesheets and medical certificates, new start and leaver information is collected accurately and submitted to specified deadlines
• To manage all HR and employee relations issues in accordance with company HR policies and liaise with HR representatives
• Effectively carry out disciplinaries and grievances where appropriate
• To ensure that all employees hold relevant paperwork demonstrating their right to work in the UK and liaise with site managers where necessary
• To ensure that all staff are trained in and adhere to all necessary legal compliance - be sure to maintain and store records confidentially
• Establish and maintain a weekly travel plan and schedule to ensure your time is effectively used to maximise productivity
• To ensure that all staff are trained in and adhere to, Health and Safety and COSHH policies and procedures and in line with company policies
• To adhere to all company processes, policies and procedures at all times, in all areas of your work
 

Requirements:
• Experience of working in a customer focused environment
• Excellent organisational and effective leadership skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to be flexible with working hours
• Willing to manage change within a diverse working environment
• Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate effective problem-solving
• IT literate
• Proven experience of managing people, ideally across multiple sites
• Proven track record of dealing with customers
