Retention Isn't Just About Staying

One of the biggest risks in FM right now isn’t people leaving. It’s people staying - but quietly disengaging.

We’re speaking to many FM leaders who haven’t lost headcount, yet still feel the strain. Energy dips. Ownership thins out. The same individuals carry increasing responsibility. Over time, performance begins to feel harder to sustain.

Retention today isn’t just about pay or job titles. It’s about clarity, support and creating environments where people can operate effectively without constant pressure.

The FM teams that are holding up best this year are the ones asking these questions early:

- Do our leaders have the right level of support?
- Are roles still realistic?
- Are we developing capability, or simply relying on it?
