Role Description:

Our client works across a range of project sectors including commercial, industrial and infrastructure schemes. They are one of the world’s leading FM, project development and construction groups, with over 40600 employees across the globe

They are seeking a Project Manager to join their Facilities Management Services team to contribute to the delivery of a number of infrastructure/built environment projects. As a project manager you will be required to take on the project management for a number of projects within a defined programme of medium to high complexity works.

The Role:

  • Deliver projects across the portfolio
  • Developing the pipe line of works to achieve the targets and required margin 
  • Project implementation, delivery, documentation, supply chain, handover and warranty management 
  • Responsibility for Health and Safety on relevant projects
  • Implementation and compliance with all statutory and Company procedures
  • Financial management and reporting  
  • To perform survey and scoping works developing Client brief into a working schedule of works
  • Produce project cost plans
  • Obtain procurement board approvals
  • Financial management of each project and full P&L responsibility
  • To ensure that all works undertaken are completed to the Company, their Client and good practice trade standards
  • Liaising with the Client and key stakeholders on change control, planning, opportunities, risks and documents
  • Establishing consistent practices and standards adhering to the engineering and project governance arrangements, including project planning, reporting, change control, analysing risks and maintaining and updating the risk register
  • Proving Project Management Support to workstreams and to address in-service related issues
  • Maintaining the Project delivery roadmap
  • Overall planning of the project delivery with inputs provided from all workstreams
  • Collecting project metrics and reports as measured against the baseline and reporting on any deviations
  • Reviewing project schedules and budgets and questioning them when they fall off schedule or over budget
  • Provide and maintain reports as required
  • Setting up and maintaining the project risk and issues strategy and processes, ensuring any escalations are dealt with by the appropriate individual of the group within the project
  • Collating risks and opportunities and issues from all workstreams at project level, analysing and recommending actions
  • Coordinating and arranging the project change control methodology  
  • To maintain day to day contact with the Client representatives to review and resolve operational matters within projects
  • To respond rapidly to short term operational issues arising from existing projects
  • Provide regular updates and management information on Project performance, Safety/Environment
  • Ensure that the day to day operations within each project are conducted to the highest standards of safety taking account of all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • To bring to the teams’ attention any safety issue related to the project
  • To conduct day to day operations with due regard to environmental standards, legislation and regulatory requirements

The Person:

  • Ideally the job holder should have been educated to at least HNC, NVQ level 4 or equivalent full technical standard. Ideally hold a recognised qualification in project management
  • Technical expertise, qualifications in an engineering discipline would be an important pre-requisite of the role
  • Knowledge of key operational procedures, eg, project road maps, planned maintenance systems, Quality and Health and Safety
  • Full knowledge of information technology, Microsoft projects, Windows, spreadsheets, keyboard skills
  • Preferably a minimum of 10 years’ experience operating as a Senior Manager Level within the building maintenance industry, preferably in banking sector / corporate environments / commercial offices
  • Demonstrate experience in managing projects to a value of £5m
  • Demonstrate experience of managing Health and Safety compliance
  • Demonstrate experience of estimating project costs, and presenting high quality tender documents 
  • Demonstrate experience of managing/supporting/coaching a team of people to deliver quality projects to stakeholders 
  • Knowledge of Statutory requirements
  • People Management – the ability to manage teams and interface with diverse stakeholders
  • Commercial Awareness – the ability to understand the key financial, labour and material variables and identify to the business where improvements can be made
  • Resilience – the ability to maintain an objective and positive focus through periods of high and sustained work pressure
  • The ability to make key decisions as and when appropriate during the project life cycle without waiting for prompting
