Role Description:
Our Client is looking to appoint an experienced Area Manager to join their growing Team. As Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing approximately 30 sites in and around the Edinburgh area, as well as leading, motivating and supporting a Team. The ideal Area Manager will have had experience in a similar environment within the cleaning industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Create successful business development strategies to ensure long-term success and maintain customer retention
  • Set standards and objectives for teams and departments
  • Enhance and oversee operations to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Lead your team towards effective collaboration and attainment of goals. Ensure they know what is expected of them to ensure they work to the highest standard in line with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with company’s policies, procedures and operational guidelines. Have this at the forefront in all aspects of your role
  • Deal with problems when they arise by providing creative and practical solutions
  • Evaluate performance using key metrics and address issues to improve it
  • Report to senior executives on progress and issues, and attend meetings regularly to note or record such issues and how they can be fixed
  • Motivate staff to meet their targets and helping them to achieve their goals
  • Hire, train and develop new staff
  • Implement action plans that can lead to change or improvement
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Area Manager or similar managerial role within a similar working environment
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation metrics and principles
  • Sound understanding of optimisation of operations and standards for success
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities, be approachable, understanding and easy to talk to
  • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
  • Strong business acumen with a strategic orientation
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Extensive business, marketing and sales acumen
  • Accounting and arithmetic skills
  • Ability to motivate staff to succeed
  • Ability to set realistic goals and identify target areas for growth
